JAPAN: Carrier has dropped the Toshiba name from its affiliate Toshiba Carrier businesses. The move follows Carrier’s acquisition of the former joint venture business in 2022.

In January, the Cooling Post revealed that the Toshiba Carrier Corporation was to change its name to Carrier Japan Corporation (Nippon Carrier Corporation) from May 1. The company has now announced that its other global Toshiba Carrier entities will follow suit, effective May 6.

In the UK, Toshiba Carrier UK Ltd will now be known as Carrier Solutions UK Ltd. The European business, Toshiba Carrier Europe SAS, will change its name to Carrier RLC Europe SAS.

The Poland-based company Toshiba Carrier Air Conditioning Europe Sp zoo becomes Carrier Manufacturing Gniezno Sp zoo, while Toshiba Carrier Air-Conditioning India Private Ltd is now Carrier Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

In the far east, Toshiba Carrier (Thailand) Co Ltd becomes Carrier Air Conditioning (Thailand) Co Ltd; Toshiba Carrier Air Conditioning (China) Co Ltd changes its name to Carrier HVAC Equipment (Hangzhou) Co Ltd; and Toshiba Carrier Air conditioning Sales (Shanghai) Co Ltd is now China Carrier HVAC Sales & Service (Shanghai) Co Ltd.

The company assured customers and suppliers that its focus and commitment remained the same under the new names.
