Caverion acquires Carrier’s Finnish fridge business

FINLAND: Finnish building services company Caverion has acquired Carrier’s commercial refrigeration projects and related services business in Finland.

Caverion says that the transaction will further strengthen its refrigeration business and expertise by adding Carrier’s food retail refrigeration product portfolio.

Carrier first entered Finland in 2000 following the acquisition of Electrolux Refrigeration.

Seventeen Carrier employees will transfer to Caverion, with Caverion also acting as the distributor of Carrier’s refrigeration cabinets in Finland. This will provide Caverion customers with a competitive CO2-based refrigeration offering complemented with Carrier’s remote cabinet portfolio.

“The agreement with Carrier is very important for us. The expansion of our refrigeration business is in line with our growth strategy, and we are now further complementing our strong CO2 refrigeration and food retail expertise,” said Caverion’s executive vice president Ville Tamminen.
