Caverion buys Johnson Controls Finland

FINLAND: Finnish building services company Caverion has agreed the acquisition of the service and maintenance business of Johnson Controls Finland for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Helsinki, the Johnson Controls Finland business specialises in industrial refrigeration. It has eight employees who will be transferred to Caverion, joining a team with more than 220 refrigeration engineers. It has estimated annual net sales of €700,000.

Caverion is Finland’s leading provider of industrial-scale energy and refrigeration solutions and services. The company has a strong nationwide presence in industrial refrigeration, covering both design, project implementation, and maintenance services.

In 2022, Caverion acquired Carrier’s commercial refrigeration projects and related services business in Finland. This was one of 17 Finnish companies, with a combined turnover of approximately €250m, acquired by Caverion in the past five years. Caverion Finland’s net sales are approximately €900m and it has 5,800 employees.

“Johnson Controls is known for its heat pump and industrial refrigeration, as well as the professional expertise of its field team. We warmly welcome Johnson Controls’ employees to strengthen our market-leading industrial refrigeration team,” said Caverion Finland’s vice president strategy Jussi Lehtonen. “We are also proud that globally well-known and respected industrial-scale company trusts Caverion’s capability to continue Johnson Controls’ installation and maintenance business in Finland.”

The acquisition is expected to close in August.
