Chinese F-gas manufacturer denies any connection with illegal trade

CHINA: Chinese refrigerant manufacturer Zhejiang Yonghe Refrigerant Co has denied any connection with the Latvian illegal refrigerant business using its brand name.

The Cooling Post recently revealed that a company based in Riga, Latvia, was offering refrigerant for sale across the EU in direct contravention of the European F-gas regulation. The company which registered the website domain had also registered iceloong.eu, a trademark of Chinese refrigerant manufacturer Zhejiang Yonghe Refrigerant Co.

Will Liao, director of Zhejiang Yonghe’s international trade department, denied his company had any connection with the website developers and confirmed that its trademark was being infringed.

“We will contact the website and send our notification to them to stop using our brandname,” he said.

“Yonghe is well knowing about the Fgas regulation in EU and is itself a Fgas quota holder. We by no means will do illegal business and we don’t have any subsidiary companies in EU or any countries near EU,” Will Liao insisted.

Ice Loong is a well-known Chinese refrigerant brand and is registered in more than 20 countries.
