TectoCore sets new standards

GERMANY: Viessmann is to debut its new TectoCore range of refrigeration units at next month’s Chillventa show in Nuremberg.

The WMx5, a wall-mounted refrigeration unit from this new range, employs a new design of condensers with a significantly lower internal volume. The design is said to to optimise refrigerant flow, resulting in improved system performance at ambient temperatures from -5ºC to 43ºC.

Using R290 refrigerant, the new units in the TectoCore generation have a charge size of no more than 150g.

In future, Viessmann will offer the refrigeration units together with its established TectoCell cold and freezer rooms as so-called TectoSystem units. The new TectoCore generation is said to boast top energy-efficiency values, while significantly reducing maintenance requirements and optimising installation.

According to Viessmann, the new TectoCore WMx5 delivers an EER efficiency increase of at least 10% compared with its previous WMx3 generation.

In Nuremberg, Viessmann will be showcasing its new TectoSystem, comprising a TectoCell cold room and TectoCore WMx5 refrigeration unit, featuring an integrated shelving solution and additional optional equipment

Viessmann claims that the refrigeration circuit is “hermetically sealed” with brazed joints and tested to what Viessmann describes as being “permanently technically leak-tight”. To achieve this, Viessmann has, among other things, used a completely new pipe geometry and decoupled the pipe system from the compressor, which is mounted with anti-vibration mounting.

For maximum corrosion protection, the evaporators feature a KTL e-coating, while the hot-gas coil is made from CuNiFe tubing.

The compact construction and slim design of the WMx5 refrigeration units also ensure optimum use of space inside cold and freezer rooms.

The new TectoCore refrigeration units an be retrofitted to existing freezer and chilled rooms. Depending on the generation of the room and refrigeration unit, Viessmann offers different retrofit options.
