Copeland to open $14m Vilter factory upgrade

USA: Copeland has announced the official opening of its new Vilter industrial refrigeration compressor facility in Cudahy, Wisconsin, following a major $14m renovation and remodelling.

The updated 400,000ft2 (37,000m2) site, which now features 16,000ft2 (1486m2) of enhanced training areas and modernised spaces for collaboration, will be officially opened on Thursday (May 1).

According to Copeland, these updates aim to educate its customers on evolving industry technologies and provide knowledge and training on Copeland’s lifecycle services solutions, equipping operators with expertise to optimise their system performance and accelerate sustainability goals.

The enhanced facility also included a new cafeteria, an upgraded gym and reimagined workspaces, showcasing the company’s dedication to prioritising colleague health, well-being and productivity.

“Updated collaboration spaces have been thoughtfully designed to encourage innovation and teamwork, reflecting Copeland’s focus on creating environments where colleagues can thrive,” the company said in a statement.

“This state-of-the-art facility is more than just a building; it’s a testament to our values of innovation and sustainability,” said Marian Zincke, vice president and general manager for Copeland’s industrial business. “With these renovations, we’re not only doubling our capacity to train customers, but also prioritising the well-being and growth of our colleagues.”

Tracing its history back to 1867 in Milwaukee, the Vilter company has been based  in Cudahy since 1995. The company was acquired by Emerson, Copeland’s former parent company, in 2009.
