Daikin Applied builds new $30m US training centre

USA: Daikin Applied has broken ground on a new $30m training facility in Plymouth, Minnesota.

Designed as a centralised hub for technical, engineering, sales, leadership and customer training, Daikin says its new Solutions & Technical Institute will help employees, partners and customers develop the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly advancing HVAC industry.

The 64,000ft2 facility will incorporate more than 50 fully functional Daikin HVAC units to enable real-world troubleshooting and system-level learning.

The purpose-built learning environment will include nine classrooms and six breakout spaces to support technical, engineering, sales and leadership development. A state-of-the-art digital studio is also planned to provide training access to teams, customers and partners around the world.

The curriculum will include up to 120 training pathways focused on advanced controls, diagnostics, system optimisation and sustainable technologies.

The Daikin Applied Solutions & Technical Institute is expected to open in 2027.

The investment complements Daikin Applied’s $163m state-of-the-art research and development test lab in Plymouth, Minnesota.
