Daikin recalls air conditioners in Japan
JAPAN: Daikin has issued a product recall in Japan of 840,000 residential air conditioners and air cleaners.
The recall affects 261,199 air conditioning indoor units across 138 residential models manufactured between September 2006 to August 2010 and 576,144 air cleaners across 42 models manufactured between September 2006 and April 2011
The recall follows incidents of smoke or fire from the fan motor.
Daikin has asked customers to refrain from using the models affected and is to carry out a free inspection and repair.
