Daikin to introduce R32 heat pump

Neo-Cute-DaikinJAPAN: Air conditioning manufacturer Daikin is to launch a heat pump water heater running on the low GWP refrigerant R32.

Daikin has been championing the use of the R32, a “mildly flammable” A2L refrigerant, in its new residential and small commercial air conditioners and will now adopt the new technology in a 4kW heat pump water heater to be launched in Japan next month.

Heat pump water heaters, commonly known as Eco Cute and running on the natural refrigerant CO2, have gained in popularity in Japan. Daikin will officially launch its new product, which it is referring to as Neo Cute, on February 20.

Daikin’s Neo Cute will have a 320 litre tank capacity and is described as being suitable for smaller households of 1-3 people.
