European F-gas prices remain stable

EUROPE: Refrigerant prices in Europe remained relatively stable in the second quarter of 2026, according to latest figures published by the European Commission.
Prices for high-GWP gases and blends increased slightly across the entire supply chain (excluding end-user prices) compared to Q2 2025, with R134a and R410A up just 1%. Compared to the first quarter of the year, the increase was 1% for R134a and 2% for R410A.
Amongst the alternatives, the most significant increases on Q1 were R290 up 11%, R32 up 9% and R448A up 4%.
The purchase price of reclaimed R404A decreased by 9% compared to the first quarter of 2026, decreased by 9% among service companies and by 4% among distributors.
The purchase price of quota permits decreased by 2% compared to Q1, ranging between €14 and €18.50/t CO₂e. On average, purchase prices for quota permits were approximately €17.19/t CO₂e.
This latest report was based on information supplied by 54 companies from 11 EU member states representing all levels of the supply chain, including three gas producers, 14 gas distributors, 24 OEMs , and 10 service providers.
