Dignam appointed Chemours president and CEO

USA: Chemours has confirmed interim CEO Denise Dignam as president and CEO and a member of the board of directors with immediate effect.

Dignam takes over from Mark Newman who was placed on administrative leave last month, along with CFO Jonathan Lock and principal accounting officer Camela Wisel.

A subsequent internal review prompted allegations that the executives had delayed payments and accelerated the collection of receivables to meet free cash flow targets.

Dignam joined Chemours in 2015 and was previously president of Chemours’ Titanium Technologies and Advanced Performance Materials segments.

Matthew S Abbott will continue as interim CFO until a successor is appointed.
