€3m bond issue to support production increases

ITALY: Emicon, the Italian heating, refrigeration and dehumidification systems manufacturer, plans to raise €3m to support production capacity increases at its production sites in Meldola and Piove di Sacco.

Part of Enex Technologies, Emicon AC SpA has issued a minibond of €3m subscribed in equal shares by UniCredit and Mediocredito Centrale. It is part of the Basket Bond programme launched by UniCredit and Mediocredito Centrale and supported by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.

The six-year bond is seen as an important element in support of the investment in the company’s production capacity.

Founded in 1984 in Emilia-Romagna, Emicon was acquired by Enex Technologies in 2022.

Enex Technologies CEO François Audo said: “This investment will allow us to significantly expand our production capacity, consolidating our leading position in the natural refrigerant air conditioning solutions sector.”

Explaining how the Basket Bond supports local companies, Andrea Burchi, UniCredit’s regional manager centro nord, said: “”With the Basket Bond Made in Italy we accompany Italian SMEs in accessing the capital market quickly and conveniently, allowing investors to reduce credit risk and companies to achieve their goals at better conditions than those of the market. In this way we encourage the implementation of investments by small and medium-sized enterprises, facilitating their growth and development.”
