Ecodesign and energy labelling explained

BELGIUM: Eurovent has produced an updated interpretation of the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling requirements for refrigeration appliances with the addition of an FAQ section.

The updated version of the Recommendation 14/6 – Interpretation of Regulation (EU) 2019/2018 and of Regulation (EU) 2019/2024’ – comes a year after the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling requirements for refrigeration appliances with a direct sales function entered into force.

The update comes with the addition of standard configurations of remote vertical open roll-in cabinets and an FAQ section with answers to 69 in-depth questions concerning the interpretation of the Regulation (EU) 2019/2018 and the Regulation (EU) 2019/2024.

“The current update of the 14/6 Recommendation further interprets the Regulation (EU) 2019/2018 and the Regulation (EU) 2019/2024 by elaborating, with the use of the FAQ section, on matters that required further explanation from manufacturers. This will certainly help in quickly achieving the energy saving targets proposed by the Commission,” explained Maurizio Orlandi, intellectual property and technical compliance group manager at Epta and chairman of the Eurovent Product Group Commercial Refrigeration Equipment, which compiled the update.
