EIA seeks to monitor US HFC refrigerant prices
16th December 2023USA: The Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) is seeking US industry participation in a survey to monitor wholesale refrigerant prices in the USA.
The phase down of HFC refrigerants under the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act sees the cap on consumption and production allowance decreasing from the current 90% to 60% on January 1.
In order to understand the market impact of the US HFC phase-down, the EIA is seeking to survey the industry on wholesale market prices of common HFC refrigerants. EIA will aggregate survey results for general trends and analysis.
The EIA says that only aggregate data will be shared publicly. All individual company responses and price data including survey respondent identities and names of participating companies will be kept strictly confidential.
Wholesale distributors of refrigerants in the US are invited to participate in this monthly voluntary survey, which is said to take just a few minutes to complete each month.
Initially, the EIA is seeking data for the months of November and December 2023 by January 15th, 2024. EIA will follow up with survey respondents on a monthly basis to assess ongoing price changes.
The EIA invites stakeholders who are interested in participating in the survey should email Pamir Karusagi.
The survey is available here.
