Emerson sells Russian business

USA: Emerson has agreed to sell its Russian business, including its manufacturing subsidiary Metran and sales and service company Emerson LLC, to the local management team.

Based in Chelyabinsk, Metran produces control valves and regulators, distributed control systems, pressure, temperature, level and flow measuring instruments.

The announcement follows the company’s May statement to exit its Russian business and explore strategic options to divest Metran.

Russia is said to have represented approximately 1.5% of total Emerson sales last year. As part of the previously announced Russia exit, Emerson included a pre-tax loss of $162m in the third quarter of fiscal 2022.
