Epta acquires Hauser GmbH

ITALY/AUSTRIA: Epta, the Italian commercial refrigeration equipment manufacturer, has acquired a majority interest in Hauser GmbH, the Austrian display cabinet and refrigeration systems company.

Following completion of the transaction, Epta will hold approximately 86% of the combined entity, with Hauser holding approximately 14%.

Founded in 1946 with headquarters in Linz, Hauser is a turnkey supplier of refrigerated display cabinets and refrigeration systems across Europe. In the 2024/25 financial year, Hauser generated sales of around €410m euros with 1,500 employees. In addition to Austria, it also operates a factory in the Czech Republic.

Headquartered in Milan, Epta operates worldwide through its brands Costan, Bonnet Névé, Eurocryor, Iarp and Kysor Warren.

The addition of Hauser will make the Epta Group one of the most comprehensive and leading players in the retail sector, with approximately €2bn in consolidated revenues and around 10,000 employees.

It will also significantly reinforce its geographic presence, with particular focus on Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, further Southeastern European countries, UK and France.

“The union of the Epta and Hauser families marks the beginning of a new chapter in European industrial excellence, built on shared values, vision, and a deep commitment to innovation and sustainability,” commented Epta CEO Marco Nocivelli.

“After our recent partnership with the Viessmann family in 2023, the agreement with Hauser further strengthens our position as a global player in the sector.”

The closing of the deal is subject to customary conditions precedent, including approval by the European antitrust authorities, expected by the end of 2025.
