Epta expands in South America

VPP CEO and founder Victor Peña (left) agrees the deal with Epta Chile and Peru MD Marcelo Cataldo

ITALY/CHILE: Italian commercial refrigeration company Epta has acquired Sociedad Ingeniería y Mantención VPP, one of the leading contractors in Chile.

With its headquarters in Quilicura, near the capital Santiago, VPP specialises in the engineering, installation and maintenance of retail refrigeration systems. Established in 2008, the company operates with four offices in the main regions of Chile and has operated a strategic alliance with Epta’s Italian competitor Arneg since 2014.

Epta has been active in Chile since since the formation of Epta Chile SpA in 2013, following the acquisition of commercial refrigeration distributor Portanuova SA.

“After years of presence in the Chilean market, during which our main objective has been to provide our customers with turnkey solutions and direct assistance with a focus on long-term relationships, this acquisition allows us to provide a service to 360°,” said Marcelo Cataldo, MD of Epta Chile and Peru.

“The intense competitiveness that characterises the mass distribution sector in Chile increasingly confirms the interest of offering a complete service, in order to support the customer from design to installation and up to after-sales,” added VPP CEO and founder Victor Peña.
