Fan maker to expand US tooling centre

USA: German fan manufacturer EBM‑Papst is to add a 1,350m2 extension to its US manufacturing and engineering facility in Farmington, Connecticut.

Due to begin this summer, the $3m project will include a revitalisation of the company’s tooling centre – the division responsible for crafting equipment used in manufacturing at both its locations in Connecticut and Tennessee.

One pivotal enhancement will see an upgrade of the tooling centre’s size and capabilities to better support the company’s manufacturing needs. Additionally, a new drive-through dock will be constructed, designed to streamline material handling and truck circulation with convenient side-unloading capabilities.

“By localising our tooling capabilities, we aim to boost efficiency and responsiveness while reducing reliance on external resources,” explained Mark Shiring, CEO Air Technology Americas.
