Folker Franz leaves EPEE

BELGIUM: Folker Franz, director general of EPEE, the body representing the European refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump industry, has left the organisation.

A statement from EPEE said merely that Folker Franz had “reached an agreement” with EPEE to step down as director general, and that a new director general would be appointed in the upcoming weeks.

His departure comes at a critical time in the lobbying process of the F-gas revision negotiations, where EPEE was taking a lead role.

Franz took over the role of EPEE’s director general last August from Andrea Voigt, who left to join Danfoss after 12 years in the role.

A German national and public affairs professional, Franz joined EPEE from Hitachi ABB Power Grids and the ABB Group, where he was the head of government relations for the EU. He has also worked at BusinessEurope, the European business federation, as industrial affairs director.
