Galyen to retire as president of Danfoss North America

USA: John Galyen, president of Danfoss North America, is set to retire after 21 years with the company.

He will be replaced by Rick Sporrer, currently vice president of sales, America, for Danfoss Power Solutions, from July 1.

In a career spanning more than 40 years, Galyen entered the industry in 1980 as a sales engineer at US distributor Thermal Products, which was later acquired by United Refrigeration. In 1986 he joined Ranco and later Siebe prior to it becoming Invensys Climate Controls. 

Galyen is a member of the board of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and a member of the executive board, and past chairman, of the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).

Rick Sporrer has been with Danfoss for 20 years, initially with Sauer-Danfoss.
