GEA concludes sale of French contracting arm

GERMANY: GEA has concluded the sale of its refrigeration contracting and service operations in France after entering exclusive negotiations with Syclef in September 2021.

While financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed, GEA says it will now focus its French activities on selling compressors and related services and equipment, such as spare parts, to packagers and contractors.

Founded in 2003, Syclef specialises in the installation and maintenance of industrial and commercial refrigeration systems. The company was acquired by private investment firm Ardian in 2020. Based in Rousset, near Aix-en-Provence, the company has around 1,100 employees in 34 independent entities in France.
