Greeks seize 1.5 tonnes of illegal refrigerant

GREECE: Two people have been arrested in the Greek town of Florina, northwestern Macedonia, for the illegal transport of 149 cylinders of refrigerant.

Those arrested yesterday by police officers of the Border Guard Department of Kristallopigi Florina were described as a 28-year-old foreigner and a 51-year-old Greek national.

The refrigerant, weighing 1.5 tonnes, was found in a van from Albania driven by the 28-year-old man. The refrigerant lacked customs clearance and customs clearance documents. A car driven by the 51-year-old was ahead of the van and said to be acting as an escort.
