Haier’s Thai factory will produce 6 million AC units/year

Haier held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new factory last month

THAILAND: Haier is to invest US$400m in a new factory in Thailand to produce smart air conditioners.

The factory, to be built on a 324,000m2 site in Chon Buri in Eastern Thailand, will be capable of producing 6 million air conditioners per year. Around 85% of its output is destined for overseas markets.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place last month and the first phase of construction is scheduled to be completed in September 2025. The factory will have an initial production capacity of 3 million units per year.

Once completed, it will be Haier’s largest overseas air conditioning manufacturing base and the largest AC production base of Chinese brands in Thailand and Southeast Asia.
