Heat pumps boost Viessmann sales to €4bn

GERMANY: The Viessmann Group reports total revenue in 2022 of €4bn, an increase of 19% on 2021.

Viessmann Climate Solutions, the largest business area within the Viessmann Group, is said to have experienced high demand for sustainable climate solutions including heat pumps with “natural” refrigerants, biomass, solar thermal and electric storage, as well as air purification solutions and digital services.

In May 2022, the family company announced plans to invest €1bn in the expansion of green climate solutions. Consequently, the business area expanded its development capacities for heat pumps, almost doubled the number of employees in this area, and announced the construction of a new heat pump factory in Poland.

The performance of Viessmann Refrigeration Solutions was driven by intelligent cooling solutions based on heat pump technology and efficient nano-cooling solutions for urban areas.

Viessmann Investment expanded its market position geographically through strategic acquisitions and new partnerships with mid-sized companies, also broadening its offering range through adjacent solutions. These included an investment in 0800-Repair, a UK heat pump service company and a new strategic partnership with aqotec, a leading Austrian full-service provider of district heating solutions. It also gained access to the North American ventilation market with an investment in the Canadian indoor air specialist Nu-Air.
