Hoshizaki set to acquire US display case company
13th June 2025
JAPAN/USA: Hoshizaki, the Japanese manufacturer of commercial food and beverage refrigeration equipment, is set to acquire US display case company Structural Concepts Corporation.
The acquisition will be executed through Hoshizaki’s US subsidiary, with the transaction expected to be completed around the end of July.
Established in 1972, Structural Concepts is seen as a US leader in food display cases. With its base of manufacturing and sales in Norton Shores, Michigan, the company supplies products to a wide variety of customers across the US, including supermarkets, convenience stores, cafés, and restaurants. Sales are $147m and it has around 500 employees.
The addition of Structural Concepts expands Hoshizaki’s product portfolio in the USA, which currently includes Hoshizaki America (ice machines and commercial refrigerators), Lancer (beverage dispensers), and Jackson (commercial dishwashers).
This is expected to enable greater market penetration, particularly among convenience store customers, through shared sales channels within the group. Additionally, Hoshizaki expects to benefit from joint procurement of production materials and a shared service network.
