Indian AC firm Voltas sees sales exceed 2 million

INDIA: Indian manufacturer Voltas reports sales of over two million air conditioners in FY 2023-24, said to be the largest ever annual sales of ACs in India.

The annual volume growth of 35%, boosted by growth of 72% in Q4, was attributed to a consistent demand for cooling products during the year, coupled with the company’s strong offline and online distribution network and innovative new launches.

Founded in 1954, Voltas is part of the Tata Group and in addition to room air conditioners includes air coolers, air purifiers, water dispensers, water coolers, commercial refrigeration and commercial air conditioning products in its portfolio.

Voltas has claimed market leadership in the air conditioner category for more than a decade and is now gearing up to further expand its retail and distribution network. The company registered a significant growth in volume in other cooling products including air cooler and commercial refrigeration products.
