Kranenberg elected chair of Eurovent groups

BELGIUM: Henk Kranenberg, senior manager of Daikin’s Environment Research Centre, has been elected chairman of both the Eurovent air conditioners and chillers groups.

He is joined by vice chairmen Stefano Vit, patents and technical compliance leader at De’ Longhi, in the air conditioners group (PG-AC) and Mariano Covolo, technology and engineering management manager at Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems, in the chillers group (PG-LCP-HP).

The groups will focus on the upcoming revisions of important pieces of EU legislation in the HVACR sector, including the ecodesign and energy labelling regulations. They will also follow developments in standardisation and testing, and other important topics, including flammable refrigerants and the circular economy.

Commenting following his election, Henk Kranenberg stated: “The European Green Deal is of great relevance for the HVACR industry, and sustainable heating and cooling have a major role to play in decarbonising the economy. The reactivated Eurovent PG-AC and PG-LCP-HP will accompany the development of sound European policies and standards in support of the EU’s climate-neutrality vision.”
