Kyrgyzstan ratifies Kigali

KYRGYZSTAN: The Central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan has joined its near neighbour Turkmenistan in ratifying the Kigali Amendment.
Turkmenistan became the first Central Asian country to ratify Kigali at the end of August. Ratification by its near neighbour Kyrgyzstan takes the number of countries to back the phase down of HFCs to 102.
Under the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, countries commit to cut the production and consumption of HFCs by more than 80% over the next 30 years.
