Lidl to expand Mullingar distribution centre

IRELAND: Lidl Ireland is to invest €75m in the expansion of its Mullingar distribution centre at Robinstown, Co Westmeath.
The new 15,000m2 extension will incorporate the largest solar array of Lidl’s properties in Ireland, providing enough energy to meet approximately 25% of the plant’s energy requirements.
The project includes 25,000m2 of new cold rooms cooled by “natural refrigerants”, with heat recovery providing heating to the warehouse.
