Lindab acquires German ventilation firm Felderer

GERMANY: Swedish ventilation equipment manufacturer Lindab has acquired Felderer AG, a German wholesaler and manufacturer of ventilation components.

Felderer was founded in 1979 and is based in Feldkirchen outside Munich. It is one of Germany’s largest distributors of products including ducts, silencers, diffusers and fire protection products, but does not currently sell Lindab products. Felderer also manufactures circular ventilation ducts.

It has annual sales of approximately SEK700m (€65m), 160 employees and operates from seven sales and distribution facilities in southern and western Germany.

“The German market has great potential for us. Like the Nordic countries, the buildings are well insulated and need efficient, high quality ventilation. In addition, German authorities are focusing on reducing energy consumption in both new and existing buildings,” said Lindab president and CEO Ola Ringdahl.

“It is an optimal combination for Lindab. Together with Felderer, we are significantly expanding and broadening our ventilation offering in Germany,” he added.
