USA/GERMANY: Refrigerant suppliers Linde and Praxair have terminated merger talks, the companies have announced.

Preliminary merger talks, revealed last month, between the German and US companies would have created a business with a combined market value of around $60m. Both companies are global suppliers of refrigerants as part of their industrial gases portfolios.

Confirming the termination of the preliminary talks with Praxair, yesterday, Linde said, “While the strategic rationale of a merger has been principally confirmed, discussions about details, specifically about Governance aspects, did not result in a mutual understanding.”
