Lodz plant will focus on heat pump fans

POLAND: German manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg is investing €50m in a new 17,000m2 factory in the south-east of Lodz that will be focused on fans for heat pumps.

Construction of the building will be completed within nine months with production scheduled to start in Autumn 2023.

Adam Korzybski, managing director of Ziehl-Abegg Poland, said that the demand for heat pump fans had been increasing over a number of years. The company already provides support for numerous heat pump manufacturers operating large plants in Poland.

“We are the technology leader in fans which have been optimised with the help of biomimetics,” Korzybski said. This special fan design is said to reduce noise and consequently enables heat pumps to be operated in densely built-up areas. “An additional feature is the low energy requirement,” he added.

Smaller fans for home ventilation or in cooling for electronics and refrigeration, which up to now have been imported into Europe from Asia, will also be built in Lodz.
