Mitsubishi alliance targets US data centres

USA: Mitsubishi Electric has formed a strategic alliance to provide integrated power protection and IT cooling solutions for US data centres.

This strategic alliance will integrate the company’s Italian Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics and IT Cooling Systems (MEHITS) business with its US-based Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc (MEPPI) Uninterruptible Power Supplies Division.

MEPPI is a North American leader in the design and manufacturing of electric and electronic products, systems and services.

Headquartered in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, the MEPPI business was originally formed in 1985 as a 50/50 joint venture with Westinghouse Electric. In 1989, it became a 100% subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.

This strategic alliance will integrate MEHITS and MEPPI IT cooling solutions and uninterruptible power supplies and offer turnkey solutions and services for data centre applications in North American markets.
