New group represents 25 African associations

AFRICA: A new umbrella organisation has been created to represent 25 refrigeration and air conditioning associations from 24 African countries.

The first meeting of the Union of Associations of African Actors in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (U-3ARC) took place on May 17 and its first general assembly will take place in Burkina Faso in September. 

Nations represented are Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cape Verde, Chad, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Kenya, Lesotho, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe .

President of the new association is Madi Sakande, general manager of the Italian company New Cold System.

The other positions are taken by vice-president Adlain Eyarmwen (DR Congo), general secretary Redouane Alioua and general treasurer Lassine Katile (Mali). Basile Seburikoko (Rwanda) will be the secretary in charge of communication and public relations, together with George Njer (Kenya). Raouda Massaoudi (Tunisia) is secretary in charge of the issue of women in refrigeration.
