Nibe considering move for Fujitsu General
7th March 2023SWEDEN: Heat pump manufacturer Nibe has confirmed it is considering a potential acquisition of all or a majority of the Fujitsu General air conditioning business.
The announcement by the Swedish company followed recent news stories in the Far East naming it as one of the potential bidders for the business, along with investment companies KKR and Bain Capital.
Nibe said that negotiations were at an early stage and that there was no certainty that any deal would be made.
Fujitsu announced in January that it was seeking a quick sale of its 42% stake in the business in a deal rumoured to be worth JPY140bn ($1.1bn). The other Fujitsu General shareholders include the Bank of Japan, JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs.
