Nordic Climate expands Danish presence

SWEDEN/DENMARK: The Nordic Climate Group is expanding its presence in Denmark with the acquisition of Danish refrigeration contractor Kølegruppen.

The purchase includes Kølegruppen A/S – with its headquarters in Silkeborg and operations throughout Jylland – Kølegruppen Øst A/S, working in Sjaelland and Copenhagen and Bundgaard Køleteknik A/S in Vejle.

Kølegruppen was established in 2008 from Jysk Køleteknik, which was established in 1998, and Baks Køleservice, established in 1973 and acquired in 2008.

Bundgaard Køleteknik, which joined Kølegruppen in 2015, is an independent company and brand with a strong position in industrial applications and which specialises in environmentally friendly propane installations and water cooling. Kent Hannibal, CEO for Kølegruppen, is the primary owner, and Henrik Olsen, CEO for Bundgaard Køleteknik, is a partner. Both will continue in their present roles.

With this deal, Nordic Climate Group will comprise 12 companies, employing some 250 persons and generating an annual turnover of approximately DKK500m (€67m).

Kølegruppen’s focus on industry, bakeries, server and data centres, hotels, and public facilities enables Nordic Climate Group to broaden its offering in Denmark. In addition, the move brings three additional companies to Nordic Climate Group.

“With Kølegruppen on board, Nordic Climate Group isn’t just gaining more locations in Denmark. We’ll also be able to give customers a clearer offering, and the addition of 54 employees is a significant boost for our operations,” said Tue Sjøntoft, Nordic Climate Group’s country manager Denmark.
