SPAIN: Panasonic has signed a sponsorship deal with FC Barcelona to become the new Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning provider for the development of the football club’s Camp Nou stadium complex.

The deal means Panasonic becomes a strategic partner for the Espai Barça project which aims to turn the La Liga club’s stadium into a modern and innovative facility capable of accommodating over 105,000 spectators and incorporating a full roof.

Additionally, the Espai Barça project includes other facilities such as the new Palau Blaugrana, an office campus, and commercial and leisure areas.

Part of the sponsorship programme, which lasts for four seasons up to the end of June 2028, will see Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions provide more sustainable heating, ventilation and air conditioning solutions, with air purification using nanoe X technology, and latest generation heat pump systems for each space in the refurbished Camp Nou. In addition HVAC equipment will be used in the technical areas, such as the server rooms and for broadcasting areas.

“The alliance with Panasonic demonstrates the club’s willingness to equip the Spotify Camp Nou with the highest quality technology in the market, with the comfort of every member and fan visiting the stadium in mind so they can enjoy a match day in the refurbished installation,” stated FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta. “This agreement with Panasonic will mean every space is as comfortable as possible for the best possible enjoyment of the matchday experience.”

FC Barcelona is currently playing in Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium and is due to move back to the Nou Camp in May.
