Per Bertland proposed as new chair of Beijer Ref

SWEDEN: Per Bertland, former CEO of refrigeration wholesaler Beijer Ref, has been proposed as the company’s new chair of the board.

The move comes after current chair, Kate Swann, notified the nomination committee that she will not stand for re-election at the forthcoming Beijer Ref AGM. Swann was appointed chair in 2021, with the company delivering strong financial performance and expanding into the US market during her tenure.

Per Bertland stepped down as CEO in 2021 after eight years in the role, and was elected to the board the same year, where he has continued to serve.

Bertland originally joined the G & L Beijer Group – as the company was then called – in 1990. During his time as CEO, Beijer Ref developed into a leading global wholesaler of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump solutions.

He has significant board experience from listed and privately held companies. His current roles include chair of Dendera Holding AB, Inwido AB and InArea Group AB as well as board member of IV Produkt AB and Lindab AB.

Further details regarding the proposed change will be presented with the notice to the AGM in April.
