Poland to face court for F-gas breaches

EUROPE: Poland has been referred to the EU Court of Justice for failing to comply with the F-gas regulations.

The European Commission has decided to refer Poland to the EU Court of Justice for failing to notify to the Commission what penalties have been put in place for companies and personnel contravening the F-gas regulations.

Poland has also not yet notified the national certification bodies that should train and certify the relevant service personnel and service companies.

The Commission says it sent Poland a reasoned opinion on this matter in November 2012. Since then, the awaited notifications have still not been made to the Commission.
