Qvantum appoints Rosales as COO

SWEDEN: Swedish heat pump manufacturer Qvantum has appointed Federico Rosales, a former MD of Whirlpool Poland, as global COO.

He will be responsible for setting up Qvantum global operations and lead the transformation of production at the former Electrolux factory in Nyíregyháza, Hungary, which Qvantum acquired last September.

Rosales joins Quantum after nearly two years at Italian industrial and packaging solutions group Coesia. Prior to that, he spent 14 years at Whirlpool, progressing through varied production and engineering roles to become general manager central Europe and UK manufacturing and, finally, MD of Whirlpool Poland.

The Nyíregyháza facility, which will be converted from refrigerator production to high-end electric heat pumps for key European markets, is expected to start production during the second half of 2024. It will have a production capacity of one million propane heat pumps per year.
