Report charts impact of Covid-19

FRANCE: Heat exchanger products, cooling towers and air filters are the HVACR products that have best withstood the Covid-19 crisis, according to a new European report.

The report from Eurovent Market Intelligence, covering 16 European countries, reveals that Turkey and the UK have fared the worst during the crisis.

The survey carried out among more than a hundred HVACR manufacturers covers eight product categories: air handling units, fan coils, liquid chilling packages, rooftop units, evaporative cooling equipment, heat exchangers, air filters and VRF air conditioning.

While dry coolers, CO2 gas coolers, etc, cooling towers and air filters fared best, rooftop units saw the biggest drop in demand.

The DACH area of Germany, Austria, Switzerland are said to have been the best performing countries during this time, followed by the Benelux, Sweden and Poland. At the bottom of the ranking, we find Turkey and the UK, preceded by Spain and Italy.

As might be expected, the sectors to have “profited” from the crisis were hospitals, data centres and also the food industry, especially with regard to refrigeration. Those worst affected were, predictably, HoReCa, offices and shopping centres but also niche sectors such as cruises and airports.

This 93-page report with detailed information including charts, qualitative comments and trends is available for sale for €6,000 (excl VAT).
