Schneider sells controls company Eberle

GERMANY: Schneider Electric has sold its HVAC controls company Eberle to Eberle’s management and private equity company Borromin.

Formed in 1932, Eberle Controls GmbH was sold to the British company Invensys (then named Siebe) in 1993. Invensys was itself acquired by Schneider Electric in 2014. The company employs over 150 people at its HQ in Nuremberg.

“Due to the increasing importance of energy-saving solutions in the field of heating and air conditioning technology, we see the company with its more than 90-years of expertise in temperature control very well positioned and are convinced that there will be numerous growth areas for the company in the future – both organically and through acquisitions,” commented Borromin managing partner Marco Bernecker.

Norddeutsche Landesbank is said to be supporting the transaction with acquisition financing and a working capital loan.
