SIG to sell air handling interests to France Air

UK: Construction products supplier SIG plc is to sell its Air Handling Division to France Air Management SA for €222.7m.

SIG’s integrated Air Handling Division supplies more than 15,000 products and heating, ventilation and air conditioning related project solutions to more than 30,000 customers per year across Europe.

SIG’s integrated Air Handling Division was formed from the acquisition of Air Trade Centre in 2008. It comprises two main businesses – Specialist Distribution and Specialist Projects. Specialist Distribution supplies air handling parts and products, including own-brand and fabricated products and tailored solutions. Specialist Projects provides technical solutions for the design, supply and installation of specialist air handling systems, particularly car park systems and climate ceilings.

The Air Handling Division operates in ten European countries and predominantly in the Netherlands, France, Belgium and the UK. It employs approximately 1,250 people and is headquartered in Waalwijk, Netherlands.

Trademarks include Cairox in Europe, West Sol & Ventil, Saftair, Sebemex in France, BHL in Germany, Barcol-Air in Holland, Profant in Austria, SK Sales England and Multijoint in Switzerland.

The Air Handling Division reported an operating profit of £19.4m on revenue of £311.4m in 2018.

Specialising in the design and distribution of air treatment systems, the France Air Group was established in 1960 and has its headquarters near Lyon. The Group generates revenue of €140m. Its exports to more than 35 countries account for 25% of turnover.
