Stolen heat pumps in €387,000 haul

SWEDEN: Eight people are in court in Gothenburg accused of involvement in the theft of heat pumps and building materials valued at SEK4.5m (€387,000).
Police investigations were sparked last year by the theft of 16 heat pumps, worth around SEK1.5m (€130,000), from a company in Varekil in the west of Sweden.
After a period of police surveillance, several people suspected of having stolen air source heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, white goods and tools were arrested at various locations in western Sweden. Subsequent police searches at several homes and premises linked to the group found further stolen tools, white goods and heat pumps.
