Tefcold buys Dutch company Serrco

DENMARK/NETHERLANDS: Tefcold, the Danish commercial refrigeration equipment wholesaler, has acquired Serrco, a Dutch specialist in beverage cooling including back bars and high-end keg coolers.

Founded in 2005 and based in Etten-Leur, Serrco has five employees with an office and a warehouse.

Serrco will continue with the same staff but will change its name to Tefcold and become integrated into the Tefcold Benelux organisation.

Current owners Hedwig Kouters and Erik Snijders will remain with the company. Kouters will become key account and product director while Snijders will continue as a part-time consultant to the wider Tefcold Group.

“The addition of Serrco to the Tefcold Group is allowing us to enter into new areas of our customers business” said Tefcold CEO Jesper Kirkeby Hansen.

“We are very proud of having continuously grown Serrco year by year since its inception. Continuing the growth requires a larger set up that is better done in a bigger European group such as Tefcold, commented Hedwig Kouters.

Tefcold Group chairman and majority owner Torben L Christensen, said: “Acquisitions plays an important part of our growth strategy. Finding and being able to acquire the right companies are critical to our success.”

The Tefcold Group is headquartered in Viborg, Denmark and has close to 200 employees in 11 countries.
