Tom Ritchie RIP

Tom Ritchie and wife Kristen at last month’s AHR Expo in Orlando

USA: Ritchie Engineering has announced the sudden death of company president Tom Ritchie after he suffered a stroke on March 2.

In a statement, the company said: “Our deepest prayers and condolences go out to his family, especially his wife and our leader, Kristen Ritchie.

The son of the company’s original founder, Jack Ritchie, Tom joined forces with his brother Steve to help grow the brand after their father’s retirement in the early 70s. 

Tom Ritchie played a pivotal role in the HVACR industry and in the company which is internationally renowned for its Yellow Jacket brand tools.

“As the second generation of the Ritchie family to lead our company, his impact in the market, in our company, and many of our lives will be felt for years to come,” the company said.

A celebration of his life is being planned to be held in Minnesota.
