Trane Technologies opens innovation centre

GERMANY: Trane Technologies has officially opened a new 14,000m2 innovation centre in Oberhausen.

In addition to showcasing Trane’s range of industrial and commercial heating and cooling solutions, the centre also serves as the company’s centre of excellence for electrification and its focus on developing environmentally-friendly electric drive solutions and components for transport refrigeration units.

Opening the new centre (left to right): Isabel Coenen, team leader electrical systems, Thermo King EMEA; Didier Beaugé, vice president engineering, Thermo King EMEA; Marco Henning, general manager, Trane Germany; Eckhardt Augenstein, electrification centre of excellence leader, Thermo King EMEA; Claudio Zanframundo, president, Thermo King EMEA; Ruth Holtkamp, marketing and communications, Trane Deutschland

The facility features a rental hub which will expand on Trane Germany’s capabilities to offer short-term and long-term rental solutions for heating, cooling and cold storage. The centre also hosts state-of-the-art testing equipment.

The heating and cooling needs of the Oberhausen facility itself are met by a thermal management system which eliminates the need for fossil fuels. This system features a Trane Sintesis Balance CMAF multi-pipe system and a Sintesis Advantage CXAF air/water heat pump. The Trane controls and building management system allow for the complete integration of heating and cooling plants, serving the offices, rental hub and testing facilities, and is expected to save over 500,000kg of CO2 emissions annually.
