UL webinar on flammable refrigerants

EUROPE: Safety certification company UL is to host a webinar on the regulatory impacts and considerations when introducing HVACR products with flammable or mildly flammable refrigerants into the European market.

While flammable refrigerants are considered the best available option for several applications, they offer challenges for system development, new and complex challenges in product design and certification.

The one-hour webinar will look at the latest refrigerant trends in the industry and the regulatory implications when using flammable refrigerants in the EU.

Impacts of the use of A2L and A3 refrigerants on  the air conditioner and heat pump safety standard EN/IEC60335-2-40 and commercial refrigeration safety standard EN/IEC60335-2-89 will be considered. Their effect on the pressure equipment directive will also be looked at.

The webinar – EU Market Compliance Using Flammable Refrigerants in HVACR – will take place on May 28 from 10:00-11:00 CET
