US AC and heat pump shipments up 20.1%

USA: US shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps totalled 916,830 units in July, down 10.43% on the previous month, but an increase of 20.1% on July 2025.
Shipments of air conditioners were up 22.3%, to 503,151 units, compared to July 2025. Air-source heat pump shipments totalled 413,679, an increase of 17.6% on the previous year.
The latest figures recorded by the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute place year-to-date combined shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps up 5.5% at 5,633,518 units compared to 2025.
Breaking the figures down, year-to-date shipments of central air conditioners were up 5.2% to 3,063,290 units, while heat pump shipments increased 5.8% on 2025.
