US heat pump shipments down 13.4%

USA: US shipments of air-source heat pumps decreased by 13.4% in January, reported to be the first yearly drop since August 2020.
In figures released by the Air-Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), 281,701 air-source heat pumps were shipped in January, down from 325,443 units in January 2022.
Shipments of air conditioners in January also saw a large decrease on 2022, down 24.2% from 431,835 units shipped in January 2022 to 327,455 units this January.
